It should come as no surprise that the studio that gave us two Toy Story movies, Monsters, Inc., Finding Nemo, and The Incredibles has turned out another amazing bit of animated fun with WALL-E.

But what is surprising about Pixar’s warm-hearted film about two robots is that it may turn out to be the love story of the year.

Considering the writers’ economical use of dialogue, that’s a pretty amazing feat, but equally impressive are the relevant, eco-sensitive storyline and the eye-popping animation.

WALL-E’s humor comes in small, irregular doses, but a non-stop litany of oohs and aahs from the audience convinced me that the on-screen action hit the right notes with both children and adults.

Adorably cute and delightfully satisfying, WALL-E is a must-see for the summer that is likely to be remembered at Academy Award season.
