Sometimes when you offer to put someone up in your house, you get more than you bargained for.

That is the case in Safe House, a new action thriller opening in theatres nationwide on February 10.

Ryan Reynolds is Matt Weston, a rookie CIA agent who has been holed up in a safe house in Cape Town, South Africa for a year. As a rookie agent, has been waiting for a chance to prove his worthiness.

That chance explodes onto the scene when Weston gets the opportunity to rescue former CIA agent Tobin Frost (Denzel Washington), who has been captured after nearly a decade on the run.

Eventually Weston is able to get Frost to the Cape Town safe house, but Frost’s past, in which he sold sensitive U.S. secrets to the North Koreans, is about to catch up with him, as quite a few people would be very pleased to see Frost dead.

Weston is not only up for the challenge of fighting off Frost’s enemies, but wants to find out who they are, and put an end to them hunting Frost by permanently eliminating them.

The fight is on.

Safe House is rated R for strong violence throughout the movie, along with rough language. Running time is 1 hour and 55 minutes.
